Did REV Group Kill the Legacy?

📄 A CrappyRV Daily Drop · Monday, August 10, 2026 · Download the one-page PDF ↓

Tiffin Motorhomes. The Bob Tiffin family business. The brand owners called 'the one you keep forever.' REV Group bought them in 2020. Did the legacy survive?

Founded 1972 in Red Bay, Alabama. Family-owned. Famous for the service center in Red Bay that would fix anything you brought back. Owner Bob Tiffin allegedly answered his own phone for decades. The legend was real.

REV Group is the same conglomerate that owns Lance, American Coach, Holiday Rambler, Monaco. Publicly traded. NYSE ticker REVG. Different priorities than a family business.

Six years post-acquisition. Service in Red Bay is reportedly slower than it was. Some Tiffin loyalists are reporting longer warranty disputes. New units are still high quality compared to mass-market — but the gap is narrowing.

Is Tiffin still 'better'? Yes. Is Tiffin still the unicorn the legend made it? Trending no. The acquisition pattern — same as every other RV brand. Year three is when the changes start. Year six is when they're visible.

The bottom line

Next Monday — the luxury tier. Newmar and Entegra. Different problems, same industry. Comment your Tiffin experience pre-and-post REV.
