Black Tank Sensor Reset (When It's Not Bad Sensors)
Black tank sensor stuck on full and your tank's actually empty? Before you buy the aftermarket kit — try this. Fifteen minutes.
Step one — empty your black tank completely at a dump station. Close the valve.
Step two — fill the tank about a third full with clean water from the inside. Flush the toilet. Run water until you've got eight to ten gallons in the tank.
Step three — add a black-tank chemical packet that includes enzyme cleaner. Walex or Happy Camper. Specifically — enzyme. Not just deodorizer.
Step four — drive the rig for fifteen minutes. Let the water slosh and scrub. The enzymes break down the toilet paper that's bridging the sensors.
Step five — dump again. Check the monitor. If sensors now read accurately, you saved yourself two-fifty on aftermarket sensors. If they still lie — buy the aftermarket kit. They're permanently fouled.
