Caulk vs Sealant — When to Use Which

Wrong product on the wrong joint and you've sealed nothing. Most owners don't know the difference. Two-minute explainer.
Self-leveling Dicor — flat, horizontal surfaces only. Roof seams. Vent boots. Solar mounts. It flows out and self-levels. Use it anywhere else, it slumps and drips.
ProFlex or Eternabond mastic — vertical and angled surfaces. Slide edges. Window frames. Door trim. It holds its shape. Won't slump.
Self-leveling on vertical — see how it slides down? Useless. Non-sag on horizontal — see how it stays a bead? Doesn't bond as cleanly.
Two tubes in your basement at all times. Twelve dollars each. Knowing which to use saves your rig.
The bottom line
Tomorrow we do the cheap-tier Forest River showdown — Cherokee vs Salem. Follow.
